Bloodshot doesn't manage to give any satisfying answers to the questions from the first game, with any answers you do get either being utterly mundane (such as the reason for all the dead birds) or just long versions of NPCs saying "I don't know either." In essence, Criminal Origins' story promised satisfaction in its eventual sequel. But the script doesn't come together, the combat still falls apart when you have to fight more than one guy at a time, environments get real repetitive, and the multiplayer couldn't be more tacked on.Ĭriminal Origins wrote itself silly, throwing out mysteries and occult hints without hesitation. It has the same strengths, and those strengths have even been improved. We'd have really liked to have seen more of the interesting forensics gameplay.īloodshot doesn't bury the issues of Criminal Origins, though. Unfortunately, these satisfying forensics moments are dramatically outnumbered by simple "take the picture, press Y to send the picture to the lab" moments. ![]() These are looking at ancient tools and figuring out just how they were used on a human body. These aren't Sudoku these are looking at a blood splatter in a wall and determining its origin. Rather than the too-simple crime scene puzzles of Criminal Origins, the majority of the forensics puzzles here are real forensic puzzles. The forensics bits also get a shot in the arm.
